Towards a Sustainable Future: 4 EMME’s Commitment to Reduce CO2 Emissions
In the broad landscape of sustainability, one of 4 EMME’s primary goals, in alignment with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, is to cut CO2 emissions by 50% by 2025. This objective is part of Schneider’s Zero Carbon initiative, which aims for complete elimination of emissions by 2050.
Sustainability is increasingly critical in our world, as addressing climate change and conserving resources for future generations is fundamentally an ethical responsibility.
The Zero Carbon project embodies an ambitious vision that necessitates ongoing assessment of energy consumption and business practices, with action plans to be reviewed annually to optimize available resources.
This is essential because only through precise measurements and targeted actions can we hope to reduce our environmental impact and make a meaningful contribution to the fight against climate change. For this reason, 4 EMME, with the support of Schneider consultants, closely monitors its direct and indirect emissions. The results are shared in the Sustainability Report, a document that not only showcases progress towards our decarbonization goals but also reflects a commitment to transparency for all stakeholders.
In the past, 4 EMME has taken steps to lessen its environmental footprint, such as selecting suppliers with strong social and environmental performance and implementing eco-friendly practices like recycling waste materials, using LED lighting and motion sensors, and optimizing delivery processes. However, in recent years, the company has further expanded its sustainable initiatives: it has increased the use of solar panels, made conscious purchases of renewable energy, started transitioning from a traditional heating system to an electric one, and conducted an analysis of compressed air leaks to identify additional areas for improvement. Yet, 4 EMME’s ambitions do not stop there; future projects include installing a consumption monitoring system, further increasing onsite solar panels, and rejuvenating the company fleet.
All these actions not only help achieve emission reduction targets but also demonstrate a genuine commitment to a more sustainable future, where businesses can play a crucial role in transforming our economic model and protecting the environment. Embracing sustainable practices is not just a business strategy it is a collective responsibility to ensure a liveable world for future generations.
